Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 August 2026

These terms cover payment for DataMadeClean ("we", "us", "this service") - a tool that takes a spreadsheet you upload, detects and fixes common data-quality problems, and gives you back the cleaned result along with a record of every change.

They are deliberately short, and cover what you are buying, what it costs, how it renews, and when you get your money back. How we handle your data is a separate document: see the Privacy Policy.

DataMadeClean is operated by a sole trader based in Queensland, Australia. If you need the operator's full legal name - to raise a dispute, or for your own records before purchasing - email [email protected] and we will provide it.

What you're buying

Prices are shown before you pay, in your local currency where we support it, and the price you see at checkout is the price that applies. Payments are processed by Stripe - we never see or store your card details. Both paid options also carry an upload size limit alongside the row limit; the current figures are in the FAQ.

Cleaning is automated. It is good at the problems it knows about, and it reports rather than guesses when it isn't sure - but check the cleaned file and the change log before relying on the data, particularly for anything financial, legal or safety-related. You also confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, which matters here because the files people bring to a data-cleaning tool are usually about other people.

Renewal and cancellation

A Pro+ subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it, charged to the same payment method, at the price then shown for your plan. We will tell you before any price change takes effect.

Cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro+ for the rest of the period you have already paid for, rather than losing access immediately. There is no minimum term, no cancellation fee, and no need to contact us to do it.

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It never renews and there is nothing to cancel.

Refunds

If the service fails you, you get your money back. If a clean you paid for did not run, produced a result that was clearly broken, or you were charged twice or in error, contact us and we will refund it. We would rather refund a purchase than argue about one.

Two cases where a refund is not automatic, stated plainly so they aren't a surprise:

Being unhappy with what the cleaning changed is not one of those cases - if the result isn't what you expected, tell us. Every change is itemised in changes.csv, which usually makes it quick to see what happened and whether something genuinely went wrong.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law come first. If the service is faulty, not fit for purpose, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the ACL, and nothing on this page limits or replaces that. The policy above is what we offer in addition to those rights, not instead of them.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited - at our option - to supplying the service again, or paying the cost of having it supplied again. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss or corruption of data. Keep your own copy of any file you care about: uploads and results are deleted on a schedule (see the FAQ), and this service is not a backup.

Changes, and the law that applies

We may update these terms as the service changes. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and if a change materially affects a paid plan we will tell account holders before it takes effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and of the Commonwealth of Australia - "non-exclusive" so that a customer in another state is not forced to bring a matter in Brisbane.
